In 1816, Hamburg shipping agent John Fontenay purchased the unique property on the banks of the Alster Lake. Today, it is the site of an organically shaped building flooded with light. Approximately 14,000 square metres of glass merge the boundaries between the spectacular interior and green exterior areas.

This applies to the layout concept for altogether four restaurants and bars, as well as the rooms and suites of this luxury hotel. They are generously appointed with warm shades of colour and floor-to-ceiling windows, and even the parquet floors are made from wood exclusively procured from the forests of Fontenay Abbey in France. The bathroom is stocked with exclusive care products from the Spa range by La Biosthétique, which invite you to kick back and relax during Hamburg’s blustery autumn days. How to get here:
By train: it’s a 10-minute walk from the mainline and urban train station “Dammtor”, as well as from the underground station “Stephansplatz” (U1), or a 3-minute walk from the “Fontenay” bus-stop (Line 19).
Take the urban train (S1) from Hamburg airport (HAM) to the “Jungfernstieg” station. It's then a 15-minute walk to the hotel.
