BERLIN FASHION WEEK

Private Garden

A fabulous kick-off to the Berlin Fashion Week – La Biosthétique was the official beauty partner at the big Marc Cain “Private Garden” show

It was fashion season in Berlin again! The Fashion Week (4 to 7 July) attracted stars from all over the world to the capital. One glamorous start and highlight was the big Marc Cain fashion show on Tuesday in the “E-Werk” with the motto: “Private Garden”. The guests included numerous stars such as top model Lena Gercke, singer Lena Meyer-Landrut, actresses Janina Uhse and Emilia Schüle, Let’s Dance-Star Victoria Swarovski and presenter Frauke Ludwig. The new spring/summer collection 2018 by Creative Director Karin Veit was vigorously applauded, and in particular the styling of the models and VIP guests, such as that of the Polish actress Kamilla Baar and the Dutch top model Marvy Rieder at the “Goerner & Company” salon. La Biosthétique was a beauty partner of the show and the Artistic Team of International Creative Director Alexander Dinter with stylists Kathrin Zenk, Jörg Oppermann, Dashi Krasnici, Alexander von Trentini, Theo Dimitri and André aus der Wieschen were responsible for the look of the models. Backstage, the team went to great lengths giving the models incredible braided hairstyles. Star stylist Steffen Zoll from New York did their amazing make-up.

As far as the hairstyles are concerned, braids were the celebrated catwalk trend: “Three braids were created, two of them starting close to the head. These were tamed with Cream Clay & Volumising Lotion, and the third braid was loosely and voluminously created in the middle. Formule Laque Fine was used to control flyaway hair. Alexander Dinter dubbed this “a fresh, modern yet strong summer look”. “For the models with medium-length hair we styled it in a trendy long bob. Not too cute, but with character”.

The make-up trend was: fresh, clear, girlishly bashful and with a light summer tan. Steffen Zoll and his team created a fresh, slightly tanned glow look. The base was La Capsule Hydratante and Elixir Hydratante, followed by Glamour Kit Gold & Silver and foundation Teint Naturel, applied to the whole face. Then Earth Glow Gel Ambré was applied to the chin area and the face contours. The creamy eyeshadow Silky Eyes Crystal Gold was applied to the lids and Tender Blush Mystic Red was applied to the cheeks. This was paired with natural lips. Steffen Zoll: “The focus of the make-up was a fresh, healthy and dewy fresh complexion with plenty of moisture! This was a cinch thanks to the wonderful skincare products of La Biosthétique”. The result: “A summery look with outstanding simplicity combined with gorgeous glamour”.
The looks were romantic yet sporty and functional. One big trend: the mix of patterns! Garments featured stripe and ring prints, combined with unusual floral and animal prints such as Japanese blossoms, tigers and zebras, as well as beetles and bees. The trend colours: Delicate rose mixed with bright red, pink and violet, as well as soft earth shades, off white and light blue. The fabrics included soft silk, lamb nappa, light summer tweed and cotton, as well as wool and cashmere. This season’s must-have piece? The black leather jacket, sometimes in an oversized design studded with rivets, sometimes quilted and sometimes with painted hippie flowers. Another trend: Bustiers that can be worn as a top or a wide belt, colourfully embroidered parkas and jeans, swinging dresses, skirts, shirts and blouses with extravagant sleeves. And shoulder pads are also making a comeback!

The trendy music duo Lola Marsh from Tel Aviv was the musical highlight of the show with their song “Wishing Girl”.
